If you wanted to pick hurricane stocks last year and came here, you had a slim chance of surviving without a loss with that dull-tipped, dart tossed selection. This year, I have chosen sure-fire winners even if no hurricane, or asteroid, makes a cataclysmic appearance.
Since the Earth once again survived a near miss yesterday, I have to include flying space debris with the start of the hurricane season. What was that? You don't think 7,500 miles was a close call? Don't know about you but I felt the wind of that one. Damn near took the grass off the hut roof. That would have been bad news for the poison dart frogs that took refuge there. The little fellas are brightly colored, but are lacking in asteroid avoidance skills.
Here's the disaster proof selection:
symbol, name, current price, category
BECN, Beacon Roofing Supply, $22.24, Building Materials (Roofs, first things to break off. Just ask the dart frogs.)
CCIX, Coleman Cable, $13.31, Industrial Electrical Equipment (Wat you talkin' 'bout, Willis?)
FRZ, Reddy Ice Holding, $2.76, Processed and Packaged Goods (Good for relieving an asteroid kiss to the head.)
LOW, Lowes, $23.15, Home Improvement Store (Replaces Home Depot this year.)
SRCL, Stericycle, $86.83, Waste Management (Touching medical waste ranks right up there with recycling someone's chewing gum.)
I think you will agree that these picks can stand on their own regardless of how the winds are blowing off the coast of Africa, or which way the space boulders choose to fly.
