I'm a simple-minded chimp. I can stare at shiny objects for hours. So it's no surprise when I stumbled on movie barcodes that I spent several hours observing.
I like movies. You might see me in a movie theater near you. Not on the screen, but in the seat, watching...in the center section just to the right. If you think you see me but you're not sure it's me, just approach slowly and say the special code phrase...Monkey share Milk Duds? I won't, but I'll give you the 'thumbs up' or that finger sign that Spock used to use on Star Trek.
Anyway, while I doing some internet searching for Mandelbrot's thoughts concerning the Black-Scholes formula, I came across these Movie Barcodes. What are movie bar codes you ask? Someone with more time on their hand than me took every frame in one movie and compressed it into a sliver, and then put them next to each other. That's it...Movie Barcode. What you have is a compressed look at the different colors in each scene. The slivers are too thin to see anything else.
Just for fun, I picked out three movies...Kill Bill, Dumbo, and Jaws. Can you match the bar code with the movie?
See. That wasn't so hard.
You can check out more of the bar codes at where else...MovieBarcodes.
Oh yeah, top to bottom...Dumbo, Jaws, Kill Bill.
